What the numbers have to be
Light through
at least 40 %
Below about 40% a standard-depth box has to work too hard: the face reads dull and the fix is usually more lamps, which brings the hot-spotting back.
Basis weight
no more than 260 g/m²
A heavy face loads the frame and holds creases from the roll longer. Under 260 g/m² tensions cleanly on standard extrusion.
Stock width
at least 300 cm
A seam in a lit panel is a line nobody stops seeing. Width is the only thing that removes it.
These are Epic's recommendations for a job of this shape, not a published standard. A deeper box tolerates a higher transmission; a very shallow one needs less.
What clears it

Getting it right on site
Depth does more work than any specification. Lamps sitting 80 mm behind a face at 48% transmission will read evenly; the same face at 40 mm will show every LED. If the box is fixed and shallow, change the fabric rather than the lamps.
Hot-cut the edge where the construction allows it. A sealed edge going into a keder channel means no hem bulk at the frame, and on a lit panel any thickness at the edge shows as a dark line.
Size the panel against published shrinkage, not against the frame. Transfer heat moves the cloth, and a panel cut to the extrusion before printing will not fit it after.
