Sustainability

What we can show you, and what we cannot yet.

Every supplier in this category has a page like this. Very few of them carry a document you can ask to see. Our spec sheets print a pass column and say test in progress where a result has not landed — the same rule applies here.

  • 100% polyester across all six house fabrics, on the sheet.
  • Less offcut Custom widths made to order, so a job is cut to size rather than trimmed.
  • Certificates are requested from the mills, not assumed.

Sustainability

What we can show you, and what we cannot yet.

Every supplier in this category has a sustainability page. Very few of them carry a document you can ask to see. Epic's spec sheets print a pass column and say test in progress where a result has not landed — the same rule applies here.

  • Daylight passing through a white polyester panel in a window

    The material

    What the fabric is

Composition is published on the sheet for all six, in the same place as every other measured value.

    • 100% polyester across the collection
    • Dye-sublimation transfer carries no solvent at the print stage
    • Composition stated per SKU, not on request
  • Rolls of white display fabric on cardboard cores, stacked end-on

    The waste

What does not get thrown away

The largest avoidable waste in soft signage is fabric cut off a roll that was the wrong width, and seams that should not have been needed.

    • Custom widths from 100 to 500 cm, made to order
    • Eos covers five metres with no seam
    • Printable test yardage, so a bad fit is found before a pallet ships
  • Rolls from several mills held on warehouse racking

    The gap

What we are still asking for

Epic does not operate a mill. The certificates that matter belong to the houses we buy from, and we are collecting them rather than paraphrasing them.

    • GRS recycled-content status, per mill
    • OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certificates
    • REACH SVHC declarations
    • A written answer on end-of-life routes

Six fabrics, six answers

What each one is actually made of.

Polyester is recyclable as a fibre. That is a fact about the material and says very little about a finished roll, so here is the construction of each of the six, copied from its own spec sheet.

  • Halo in application Halo 100% polyester, woven Single material
  • Tesa in application Tesa Knitted polyester Single material
  • Aureline in application Aureline 100% knit polyester, matte finish Single material
  • Lumex in application Lumex 100% polyester, soft woven, glossy surface Single material
  • Rio in application Rio Heavy woven polyester, matte surface Single material
  • Eos in application Eos Warp-knitted polyester with a black resin-coated backing Mixed construction

Eos is the one mixed construction in the six, and the backing is not an oversight — the black resin layer is what makes it fully opaque, which is the entire reason to specify it. It is listed here because a mixed construction behaves differently at end of life, not because it is a lesser fabric.

Where we stand

Every line, with its status.

Three of the four states on this table are admissions. That is deliberate — a row that says not yet asked tells you more about how Epic works than a paragraph about caring for the planet would.

Current position · reviewed as documents arrive
Commitment Where it stands Evidence Status
Fibre composition published 100% polyester across all six house fabrics, stated on the sheet, not on request. Spec sheet, per product Published
Offcut reduction Custom widths from 100 to 500 cm are made to order, so a job is cut to its finished size rather than trimmed down from a stock roll. Product pages Published
Seam reduction Eos covers five metres in a single piece. A 5 m backdrop that would otherwise carry a join does not. Eos spec sheet Published
Recycled content (GRS) Not claimed. Certificates requested from the mills we buy from. — In progress
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Not claimed. Requested per mill. — In progress
REACH SVHC declaration Not claimed. Requested per mill. — In progress
Material recyclability The fibre is PET polyester, which is mechanically recyclable in principle. Five of the six are plain polyester; Eos carries a black resin backing, which makes it a mixed construction. Neither fact means a given printed roll will be accepted anywhere — that is the row below. Composition, per spec sheet In progress
End-of-life route No take-back offered today, and no domestic kerbside or commercial stream we know of accepts printed soft signage. Recyclable as a material is not the same as recycled in practice, and we would rather say so than imply the second. — Not yet asked
Facility energy The Anaheim warehouse is leased and its supply is not separately metered or measured. — Not yet asked
Carbon footprint per roll Not measured. An estimate we cannot source is worth less than an empty cell. — Not yet asked
Manufacturing emissions Epic does not operate a mill. These belong to the mills, and sit under the certificate rows above. — Not applicable

Nothing on this page is a certification Epic holds. Where a row says published, the document is on the product page it names. Where it says in progress or not yet asked, that is the honest answer today, and this page changes when the warehouse does.

Ask for the certificate.

If a job needs a document this page says we do not have yet, tell us which one. That is how rows on the table above change state.
