Tesa holds its white better than anything else we stock. Yellowing measured at ΔE 0.50 against a limit of ΔE 2 — 75 % inside tolerance, and below the point where any observer sees a shift at all.

That matters more than it sounds. Backlit, every photon reaching the viewer has travelled through the full thickness of the material, so a warm cast lands on the whole image rather than its surface. A fabric that measures ΔE 1.9 and one that measures ΔE 0.5 both pass; only one of them still matches its neighbour two years into a window install.

It is an environmentally friendly knitted polyester at 230 g/m² and 0.55 mm, tight enough for 60 % light shading, which makes it an indoor display fabric first and a backlit fabric second. Breaking strength is 717 N length against 1050 N width, both comfortably past standard, and elongation runs 56 % and 108 % — stretchy enough to seat into a silicone edge without a fight.

It takes dye-sublimation direct and transfer, and silk-screen. Not latex, not UV, not solvent. Shrinkage is 1.0 % length and 0.6 % width at 195–205 °C, roughly half the tolerance band, so your compensation factor will hold across lots.

Same job, different number

Closest on the numbers

Tesa is 230 g/m². These are the nearest fabrics to it by basis weight out of the 6 in The Epic Performance Textile Collection that publish one.

Nearest by basis weight only. Weight is not quality — a lighter fabric is the right answer for a tension frame and the wrong one for a hanging banner. The figures beside it are there so the choice is made on the property the job actually cares about.

Nobody has reviewed this one yet.

Worth saying plainly rather than hiding the section. In the meantime every figure on this page is measured, published with its test method beside it, and is the thing we would rather be judged on.

Questions about this fabric

Will it run on my press?

The print routes this fabric takes are listed above. If the one you own is not there, Rio takes UV, latex and eco-solvent and is the fabric in this collection to look at instead.

How much does it move under heat?

Transfer temperature and the measured shrinkage are in the technical table on this page, with the test method beside each figure. That is the number that decides whether the finished panel fits the frame.

What does this cost?

The figure on this page is a list reference. Roll goods are quoted against width, volume and freight, so add it to a quote request and a person will come back with the real number.

Can I try it first?

Ask for test yardage. Your press, your ink, your RIP — it answers what a data sheet cannot.

A figure is missing. Why?

Because it has not been measured yet, and we would rather say so than publish something plausible. Rows with no number say where they stand.

Packaging options

Individually bagged, 3" core

Each roll bagged on a 3-inch core and packed in a woven outer bag. The default for standard widths.

Hard tube with caps

Rolled into a rigid tube with end caps. Specify at order for long-haul freight or wide goods.
