What the numbers have to be
Thickness
0.2–0.6 mm
The keder has to seat in the channel. Outside roughly 0.2–0.6 mm you are matching the fabric to hardware it was not cut for.
Basis weight
no more than 280 g/m²
Heavier cloth pulls harder on the corners of a large frame and shows its own weight as a sag between fixings.
Stock width
at least 300 cm
Most standard backwall bays are under 3 m. Clearing that means one piece per bay.
Thickness is the one to check first, and the one most often missed: it has to match the channel in the extrusion you are actually using.
What clears it
| Fabric | Thickness | Basis weight | Stock width | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eos | ✓0.43 | ✓260 | ✓320 | Clears it |
| Rio | ✓0.22 | ✓175 | ✓320 | Clears it |
| Lumex | ✓0.23 | ✓195 | ✓320 | Clears it |

Getting it right on site
Measure the extrusion channel before you order the cloth. A keder sized for 0.45 mm fabric will not seat 0.57 mm, and a channel cut for thick stock lets thin cloth work loose under tension.
Recovery matters more than stretch on a stand that goes up and down through a season. A fabric that comes back flat after de-tensioning can be reused; one that does not is a single-use panel with a reusable frame.
