Eos

Priced on request

Eos is the one that stops light. Warp-knitted polyester with a white printable face and a black resin-coated back, tested at 100 % light shading under FZ/T 62025-2015 — not "opaque", not "blockout grade", but a measured figure with a method beside it.

That construction is why it does the job at 260 g/m² and 0.43 mm instead of needing to be thick and heavy. The black layer absorbs what a white face would otherwise pass, so you get full opacity in a fabric that still seats into a silicone edge without fighting you.

It also goes to 500 cm. That is the widest roll in the collection and it is the difference between a five-metre backdrop and a five-metre backdrop with a seam down it — and on a lit panel, a seam always shows.

Dimensionally it is the steadiest fabric we stock: 1.0 % shrinkage in length and 0.3 % in width, both roughly half their tolerance. Breaking strength runs 407 N along the roll and 804 N across it, so orient the load across the width where you can. It takes dye-sublimation direct and transfer, and UV — but not latex, because the coated back will not release moisture during cure.

Every figure above is on the spec sheet below, with the test method and the tolerance it was held to. Ask us for test yardage and run it yourself.

Same job, different number

Closest on the numbers

Eos is 260 g/m². These are the nearest fabrics to it by basis weight out of the 6 in The Epic Performance Textile Collection that publish one.

Nearest by basis weight only. Weight is not quality — a lighter fabric is the right answer for a tension frame and the wrong one for a hanging banner. The figures beside it are there so the choice is made on the property the job actually cares about.

Nobody has reviewed this one yet.

Worth saying plainly rather than hiding the section. In the meantime every figure on this page is measured, published with its test method beside it, and is the thing we would rather be judged on.

Questions about this fabric

Will it run on my press?

The print routes this fabric takes are listed above. If the one you own is not there, Rio takes UV, latex and eco-solvent and is the fabric in this collection to look at instead.

How much does it move under heat?

Transfer temperature and the measured shrinkage are in the technical table on this page, with the test method beside each figure. That is the number that decides whether the finished panel fits the frame.

What does this cost?

The figure on this page is a list reference. Roll goods are quoted against width, volume and freight, so add it to a quote request and a person will come back with the real number.

Can I try it first?

Ask for test yardage. Your press, your ink, your RIP — it answers what a data sheet cannot.

A figure is missing. Why?

Because it has not been measured yet, and we would rather say so than publish something plausible. Rows with no number say where they stand.
